On vertical structure of accretion disks in type ia supernova progenitors
Description
We study the vertical structure of a thin α-disk in a Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) progenitor system. Accurate equation of state and opacity of solar composition material are used. The results show pronounced features in the disk structure in the regions of ionization and molecule dissociation. We analyze the mass distribution in the disk, aiming to find the system parameters at which this mass distribution could explain the high velocity features (HVF) in SN Ia spectra. We conclude that accretion disks are unlikely candidates for explaining the HVF.
