Rhenium in combustible and diktyonemic shales of Estonian SSR and products of their retreatment

Description

Rhenium distribution in combustible and diktyonemic shales of Estonian SSR and products of their retreatment by means of chemical determination of rhenium using the kinetic method is studied. Rhenium distribution over the industrial stratum of combustible shales is homogeneous with the variations of contents from 0.02 to 0.06 g/t. Rhenium distribution in diktyonemic shales is heterogeneous and varies within 0.032-0510 g/t. Results of rhenium determination in light and heavy ash fractions, obtained when burning diktyonemic shales in furnace with a boiling layer are presented. The necessity of a detailed chemico- technological study of the shales and their retreatment products and especially ash dust as potential additional source of rhenium in future is pointed out
