The NINA polarised photon beam
Description
A beam of polarised photons is used at the SRC Daresbury Laboratory for the study of high energy photoproduction processes. The photons are produced by the bremsstrahlung interaction between the high energy electrons, accelerated in the 5GeV synchrotron, NINA and an accurately oriented, nearly perfect diamond crystal target. A description is given of the target mechanism, the selection of suitable diamond crystals and the commissioning of the NINA polarised photon beam. (Auth.)
