Description

Nano structured yttria stabilized zirconia (4 wt% Y2O3) was prepared by thermal decomposition of citrate-gel. The single-phase tetragonal (t) ZrO2 could be obtained by thermal decomposition of citrate precursor at a relatively low temperature. Nucleation and growth mechanism of the particles are discussed in the light of our experimental measurements obtained by thermogravimetric - differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), FTIR and x-ray diffraction (XRD). TEM and XRD analysis elucidated the inception of nanocrystalline phase at very low temperature. (author)
