Creep activation energy of V-based alloys

Description

Aimed to reveal creep mechanisms in vanadium base alloys the measurements of a creep activation energy are performed, which show the following: - in a V-Cr-Ti alloy the activation energy is practically constant within a whole temperature range studied and equal to ∼ 50 kcal/mole. The dependence of activation energy on applied stress escaped detection; - in a V-Ga-Si alloy the activation energy of creep progressively increases with temperature from ∼ 60 kcal/mole at 200 deg C to ∼ 115 kcal/mole at 450 deg C. The activation energy is independent of applied stress at temperatures above ∼ 350 deg C and decreases with a stress increase at lower temperatures

Abstract (Russian)

Для выяснения механизмов ползучести сплавов на основе ванадия проведены измерения энергии активации ползучести, которые показали, что в сплаве V-Cr-Ti энергия активации во всем исследованном интервале температур практически постоянна и равна ∼ 50 ккал/моль. Зависимость энергии активации от приложенного напряжения не обнаружена; в сплаве V-Ga-Si энергия активации ползучести непрерывно растет с температурой от ∼ 60 ккал/моль при 200 град С до ∼ 115 ккал/моль при 450 град С. Энергия активации не зависит от приложенного напряжения при температурах выше ∼ 350 град С и уменьшается с ростом приложенного напряжения при более низких температурах
