Quasi-continuously operating induction accelerators

Description

The particularities and the advantages of an electronical cycle accelerator with a controlling magnetic field, constant in time, strong focussing and induction accelerating system are studied. In this accelerator ''betatron with a constant field'', the high average intensity (in a sequence of the values as it is with the linear accelerator) is successfully combined with the good qualities of the beam, which characterizes the cycle accelerators. The brief review of the results from the experimental and technological investigations exhibited in the article, show that for the time being there exists a real base for developing and creating '' betatron with a constant field''. Example parameters are given of high/current betatron with 5 - 10 and 100 MeV energy, approximately 1014electron/sec beam intensity and a filling coefficient of approximately 10 - 15%
