Radiological transport aspects of radioactive materials in Brazil

Description
Many different types of radioactive materials are transported annually throughout the country, mainly those related with the nuclear fuel cycle and with the use in medicine, industry, agriculture and research fields. Considering the high number of packages that are transported by air and road a study is presented in order to assess their radiological aspects. For this purpose, data concerning the most significant radioisotopes are pointed out, including their activities and doses incurred by workers. (Author)

Diferentes tipos de materiais radioativos sao transportados anualmente pelo Brasil, particularmente aqueles associados ao ciclo do combustivel nuclear e e ao uso na medicina, industria, agricultura e pesquisa. Considerando o numero expressivo de recipientes transportados por via aerea e rodoviaria, e apresentado um estudo objetivando avaliar alguns aspectos radiologicos envolvidos nestas atividades. Para tanto sao fornecidos dados acerca dos radioisotopos mais representativos, incluindo-se suas atividades e doses resultantes. (Autor)Additional details
