Description
Ciujung river has a wide catchment area, and deforestation at upstream caused sedimentation and flood. Ciujung catchment has few rivers namely Ciberang river, Cisemeut river and Ciujung Hulu rivers. Ciberang catchment is a small part of Ciujung catchment and located at the upstream of its. Radioisotopes of 137Cs and 210Pbexcess content in the soil can be used as tracer to estimate erosion/deposition rate at subCatchmentn of Ciberang. The study is aimed to estimate the rate of erosion/deposition soil at Ciberang subCatchment. Cultivated and uncultivated area had been chosen as study sites and soil sampling were done by using coring (di = 7 cm) at the depth of 20 cm. the experimental result showed that rate of erosion/deposition were range from -32,7 /ha.y to 63,6 t/ha.y and - 63,4 t/ha.y 4,0 to t/ha.y, for 137Cs and 210Pbex respectively.
