  • 1. AN Belorusskoj SSR, Minsk. Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

The influence of heating rate on the weakening of the VT14 cold-deformed titanium alloy is considered. The investigation of the action of the fast continuous heating on the physical and chemical properties of the VT14 alloy is conducted on the 1x10x120 mm specimens with the initial fine-grain structure, cut from a sheet produced according to the commercial technology. The preliminary hardening heating is performed in a furnace with neutral atmosphere at a residence time of 15 min and temperature of 8500C. The hardened specimens are deformed at the room temperature with a total cogging of 20%. After the deformation the heating is performed by the cold-deformed VT14 alloy is not connected with the recrystallization process, i.e. the nucleation and growth of new grains, but is due to phase transformation.
