Improvements in X-ray systems

The patent concerns improvements in diagnostic X-ray equipment for examining a patient. The invention relates to the improvement of the image of the subject by reducing unwanted X-ray scatter. This is achieved by the employment of a masking disk; the apertures or slits in the disk are sectoral with their divergent long side defined by radii from the axis of the disk. The slits serve to confine the X-rays to fan-shaped beams each with a narrow sectoral cross section sweeping across the subject. (U.K.)
