Synthesis of new WO3-based complex oxides with tunnels by a chemical mixing process using peroxo-polytungstates

Description
Peroxo-polytungstate anion formed by direct reaction of metallic W with H2O2 precipitated K+, Cs+ and Ba2+. Thermal decomposition of these amorphous precipitates at moderate temperatures yielded new crystalline phases (xM2O.WO3 or xMO.WO3) with 1-D or 3-D-tunnels based on frameworks of coner-shared WO6 octahedra. Structural analysis was performed by the Rietveld refinement of powder X-ray data. (author). 5 refs; 4 figs.; 2 tabs
