Measurement of Branching Fractions and Charge Asymmetries in B Meson Decays to η(prime)K*, η(prime)ρ, and ηπ

Description

The authors present preliminary measurements of branching fractions and charge asymmetries for the B meson decays B → η(prime) K*, B → η(prime)ρ, and B+ → η(prime)π+. The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at PEP-II and correspond to 89 x 106 B(bar B) pairs produced in e+e- annihilation through the Υ(4S) resonance. They find the branching fractions Β(B0 → ηK*0) = (19.0-2.1+2.2 ± 1.3) x 10-6, Β(B+ → ηK*+) = (25.7-3.6+3.8 ± 1.8) x 10-6 with 90% confidence, and Β(B+ → η(prime)π+) = (2.8-1.0+1.3 ± 0.3) x 10-6 (<4.5 x 10-6). They also set 90% CL upper limits of Β(B0 → η(prime)K*0) < 6.4 x 10-6 and Β(B+ → η(prime)K*+) < 12 x 10-6. The time-integrated charge asymmetries are Ach(ηK*0) = +0.03 ± 0.11 ± 0.02, Ach(ηK*+) = +0.15 ± 0.14 ± 0.02, and Ach(ηρ+) = +0.06 ± 0.29 ± 0.02
