Tensor analysing power of the (d, 2He) reaction on 12C at 70 MeV

Description
The tensor analysing power was measured for the 12C(d, 2He)12B reaction at Esub(d) = 70 MeV. A DWBA calculation well reproduces the experimental data for Δl = 0 transition to the 1+ ground state of 12B. For the transition to the 2- excited state via Δl=1, the predicted curve assuming 2- is closer to the data than that assuming either 0- or 1-. The same calculation also favours 2- in analysing the previous data on the vector analysing power. These results suggest the usefulness of the simultaneous measurements of vector and tensor analysing powers. (author)
