Experimentally favoured potential for mesons
Description
We show first that a natural potential to be used in a semirelativistic wave equation for the S=1, J=Jsub(max) light and heavy mesons is, for r> or approx.1 Fermi, V(r)=ar+b/r with bapprox.=-π/2, for r< or approx.1 Fermi, V(r)=cl n(r/rsub(o)). Next we show that this particular b value favours in fact a QCD-like potential for r< or approx.1 Fermi so that a logarithmic potential is only an effective one in a small r region. (orig.)
