Relaxation phenomena in amorphous Cu66Ti34 alloy

  • 1. Voronezhskij Politekhnicheskij Inst., Voronezh (Russian Federation)

Description

On foils of Cu66Ti34 amorphous alloy produced by rapid quenching of the melt temperature dependences of internal friction were investigated within 80-900 K range. Three relaxation maxima were found at low temperatures which were considered to be connected with elastic dipole reorientation under alternating stress effect. The maximum revealed at high temperature (approximately 150K lower crystallization temperature) was explained by migration of vacancy-like defects of amorphous structure in alternating elastic stress field. The temparature dependences obtained are presented along with the scheme of elastic dipole reorientation due to migration of atom inside defect configuration
