Description

Neutron radiography, neutron diffraction and quasi elastic neutron scattering techniques have been used to study the nature of laboratory created zirconium hydride blisters in hydrogen charged zircaloy-2 pressure tube material. Neutron radiography showed blister to be lenticular in shape with 2/3 of its thickness embedded in the pressure tube wall. Neutron diffraction and QENS spectra confirm formation of hydride in ZrH1.66 i.e.. ZrH2 phase. (author)
