Experimental devices in the OSIRIS reactor for the study of thermonuclear reactor materials under irradiation
Description
In the framework of the researches undertaken by the C.E.A. and the European Community for the development of a thermonuclear reactor, the Department of the Piles of Saclay (S.P.S.) has developed devices for the study of the behavior under neutron irradiation of potential materials for this type of reactor. The S.P.S. actions deal with three fields: tritium-breeding ceramics for ''in situ'' tritium production, protection ceramics for the first external wall on the plasma side, and structural materials. This paper reviews and describes the main characteristics (flux, irradiation temperature, nature and number of samples, instrumentation) of irradiations carried out at OSIRIS with the devices designed for the studies of the thermonuclear program. Most of these experiments are carried out by means of irradiation devices based on the principle of the versatile COLIBRI device

Dans le cadre des recherches entreprises par le C.E.A. et la Communaute Europeenne pour le developpement d'un reacteur a fusion controlee, les Services des Piles de Saclay (S.P.S.) ont ete amenes a concevoir des dispositifs pour l'etude du comportement sous irradiation neutronique des materiaux potentiels de ce type de reacteur. Les interventions des S.P.S. portent sur trois domaines: les ceramiques tritigenes destinees a la production ''in situ'' du tritium, les ceramiques de protection destinees a la premiere paroi a proximite du plasma, et les materiaux de structure. Ce rapport resume et decrit les principales caracteristiques (flux, temperature d'irradiation, nature et nombre d'echantillons, instrumentation) des irradiations menees a OSIRIS avec les dispositifs concus pour les etudes du programme fusion et decrits dans ce document. La plupart de ces experiences sont realisees a l'aide de dispositifs d'irradiation bases sur le principe du dispositif polyvalent COLIBRIFiles
