Some aspects of discrimination techniques for the measurement of neutrons and photons of gamma radiation in geological applications
Description
A series of scintillation detectors considered most suitable for neutron logging and monitoring tasks were tested using pulse shape discrimination techniques. Individual elements (isotopes) could be determined using the experimental set-up. The fast neutron channel will allow calibration under geological conditions, enabling quantitative and semi-quantitative analyses to be carried out for a range of elements in a practical tool
