A first glimpse of strange matter?

In the world of quantum physics, the problems is that all matter seems to be composed of just two of the six available kinds of quarks. However, a team of physicists at the Brookhaven national Laboratory reported that by sifting through a beam of neutral particles, they had recorded two possible sightings of the lighest form of strange matter known as an H dibaryon. This article discusses both the background for this discovery, the events surrounding it and the possibilities of the future
