Effects of the observed spectrum of microwave background radiation on formaldehyde excitation

  • 1. Department of Physics, University of California, Berkeley

Description

The recently improved determination of the spectral shape of the ''big-bang'' radiation has made it possible to assess some of its effects on cooling of the 6 cm and 2 cm transitions of interstellar formaldehyde. One new result is that a minimum H2 density is not required to cause anomalous absorption at 6 cm
