Emission of In Ga As quantum-dimensional structures. 2. Form factor of homogeneous broadening

Description
Analysis is performed of the spectral shape of the spontaneous emission from In Ga As quantum wells in a wide current range at 4.2-286 K. Interpretation is given for the band shape of transitions between the lowest quantum-confined states using a modified line shape function of the homogeneous broadening, and its non-Lorentzian nature is discussed. Consideration has been done to properties of the function family representing a gradual transition from the Lorentzian to the Gaussian line shape function
