Method and device to extract dissolved, suspended or chemically bonded substances from a liquid
Description
For extraction of uranium or other minerals from seawater a thin, large-area, disk-type adsorber body is proposed, that may be fastened to a buoy. By means of a rope it may be pleated like an umbrella and easily exchanged. The body has got a diameter of about 56 m; it contains pellets of titanium hydroxide. An automatic system operating by means of a wind power engine is also outlined. (RB)

Um aus Meereswasser Uran oder andere Mineralien aufzufangen, wird ein duenner, grossflaechiger, scheibenartiger Adsorberkoerper vorgeschlagen, der an einer Boje ausgelegt werden kann. Es kann mit Hilfe eines Seils regenschirmartig zusammengefaltet und leicht ausgewechselt werden. Der Koerper hat einen Radius von ca. 56 m und enthaelt Kuegelchen von Titanhydroxid. Auch ein automatisch arbeitendes System mit Hilfe einer Windkraftmaschine wird skizziert. (RB)Additional details
