A device for pulse display, counting and testing of ionizing radiation

The device consists of a measuring part comprising a sensor, of an analog part connected to the sensor, a logic part connected to the analog part, and of a power supply part. For all basic typed of ionizing radiation, the measuring sensor consists of a silicon surface-barrier detector or a silicon lithium-drifted detector. The application of a standard detector as a general purpose sensor also enables a standard electrical part of the device to be used. The device features simplicity of wiring, pocket-size dimensions, low energy demands, and mechanical ruggedness. A block diagram of the device is shown. (J.B.). 1 fig
