Polarization measurement in quasielastic scattering of 635 MeV protons by nuclei of different elements

Description

The polarization has been measured for the protons quasielastically scattered by deuterium, lithium, carbon, aluminium, cadmium, copper and lead nuclei. It has been observed that the polarization value decreases quickly with the increasing mass number, A, of the target nucleus in the region A(<=) 12/16 and is, practically, constant on scattering by heavier nuclei
