Description
Radioactivity is the property possessed by some elements or isotopes which spontaneously emit energetic particles by the disintegration of their atomic nuclei. In the radiation detection application, LR-115 is used as a Solid State Nuclear Track Detector (SSNTD) to detect the presence of ionizing radiation in the environment. Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas comes from the natural breakdown of uranium. LR-115 has been widely used for the measurement of radon levels in the dwelling under different conditions. Many eminent researchers have studied the radon levels in various regions by using LR-115 and communicated their studies. The present paper is an attempt to review the various studies has being based on the use of LR-115 as an SSNTD for radon measurement. (author)
