Description

The CaSO4 thermoluminescent detectors doped with various activators are widely used in environmental dosimetry. These can be manufactured as powders, tablets and chips. In our institute, the CaSO4:Dy thermoluminescent detectors were obtained in tablet shape, with the following dimensions: 10 mm diameter and 0.8 mm thickness. Each tablet has a weight of 123 mg and contains in equal proportions thermo-luminophore powder and Teflon. The detectors have been obtained by pressing this mixture in a special mould. The detectors are used to measure the absorbed dose in air produced by X and gamma rays within the interval 30 keV - 3000 keV. The dosimetric parameters of the detectors, measured according to the international requirements, are in agreement with the reported literature data and standardization requirements. (authors)
