Ionization-thermal instability in a plasma of multicharged ions of Z pinch

Conditions for stratum production in a homogeneous column of multicharge Z-pinch ion equilibrium plasma are considered in the linear approximation. Numeric evaluation of plasma instability parameters agree satisfactorily with experimental data. 8 refs
