Description
The use of accelerators in polarization investigations of the dependences of an interaction not only on the momentum and energy but also on the spin states of the impinging particle and of the target nucleus yields much more information on the properties of elementary particles. In this article the authors consider the classical polarization schemes as well as new ideas of using polarized laser radiation. Implementation of polarized laser radiation schemes can improve the polarized-ion source parameters. The use of lasers in sources of polarized protons can increase the source intensity by more than an order of magnitude, improve the control of the polarization direction and uncover a wide scope for polarization research with accelerators
