Neutron and capture gamma radiation buildup factors in design calculations of reactor shields

Description
Based on the available data analysis the correlation dependences of buildup factors for thermal, intermediate neutrons and capture gamma radiation of various concretes and fillings on the cross sections of neutron capture, absorption and scattering by material atoms are ascertained. Analytical expressions approximating these dependences with the accuracy, sufficient for design calculations, are selected. The dependences ascertained and analytical expressions describing them, are recommended only to determine neutron and capture gamma radiation buidup factors according to data on shielding material chemical composition
