A method and device for measuring tightness leaks in rotative engines

Description

The invention relates to the measurement of tightness leak as carried out during rotative machine power and wear control. According to the method, a radioactive tracer is injected into a working chamber of the engine between the end of the intake stroke and the compression stroke maximum, then the radioactive activity of each of the working chambers is measured in the exhaust pipe. The invention applies to rotative piston machines such as engines compressors and pumps, as well as to aircraft reaction engines, gas turbines and fast chemical reactors
