Argon influence on the development of radiation porosity in nickel
Description
Thin (near 1000 A) monocrystalline nickel films were irradiated (E=0.6 MeV) with nickel ions in the temperature range of 500-700 deg C up to 60 dpa dose. Nickel films swelling under irradiation was studied in the dependence on Ar concentration at low (E=150 keV) and high (E=0.5 MeV) ion energies. It was estimated that with the increase of argon concentration the swelling falls down only up to concentration of 0.1 at.% and furthermore the swelling appears to increase again
