The Vavilov-Cherenkov radiation arising at deceleration of heavy ions in a transparent medium
Description
Some results of the Vavilov-Cherenkov radiation arising at a nonuniform motion of a charged particle in a radiator are presented. Considerable broadening of the width of VChR ring in the case of the broader radiator compared to the thinner one is observed. The particle velocity variation in the radiator due to large energy losses of heavy ions is the only explanation of this effect. (author)
