Improvements in or relating to a digital nuclear reactor coolant rod position indication system

Description

A digital nuclear reactor control rod position indication arrangement is described comprising: 1) a magnetized member forming a portion of the control drive rod; 2) a plurality of Hall Effect transducers spaced at predetermined intervals in a tandem array longitudinally along an axis parallel to the axis of the control rod drive housing and within proximity to the external perimeter of the housing; and 3) means responsive to outputs of the respective transducers to provide an indication of the position of the control rod within the reactor vessel.
