Description

Crystal structure of K4Na3H[Np(W5O18)2x16H2O (1) is determined: a = 18.862 (4), c = 28.233 (5) A, v = 10045(3) A3, sp.gr. P4/ncc, Z = 8; R 6.27% and Rw = 6.61% by 2997 independent reflections with I > 4σ(I). The basic structural unit is represented by heteropolyanions (HPA) [Np(W5O18)2]8-, joined by alkali metal cations and water molecules into a three-dimensional frame. The package is additionally stabilized by hydrogen bonds. The structure of Na8[Np(W5O18)2]x30H2O (2) id considered like the earlier investigated isostructural Na8[UW10O36]x30H2O (3). 1 and 2 electron absorption spectra (EAS) are studied in the crystalline state. They are completely identical
