Safety Criteria and Guidelines for Future Sodium Cooled Fast Reactors

  • 1. Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Reactor Physics Division (India)

Description

Conclusions: • General criteria is more comprehensive with inclusions from Revision of NS-R-1, IAEA, Draft-14 (2009) and AERB Safety Code No. AERB/NPPPHWR/ SC/D, Draft Report (2009). • FBR specific criteria improved – inputs from LMFBR safety criteria and guidelines report EUR- 12669 EN (2000) and Revision of NS-R-1, Draft-14. • Experience of PFBR design review by AERB incorporated as guidelines. • Possible future advances also included as footnotes so that innovation in safety is not lost sight of. • Compared to PFBR design safety criteria (1990), present document aims at higher level of safety.
