Fundamental theory on manufacture of main coolant pump in nuclear power plant
Description
This paper reviews recent theoretical achievements made in the key scientific difficulties for manufacture of main coolant pump in nuclear power plant by the research group of National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), mainly involving the following three aspects, i.e. safety assessment theory for overall performance of MCPs in an extra-long term service, macro-micro flow behaviors of high-radioactivity, high-temperature and high-pressure fluid and associated strong thermo-hydro-mechanical coupling mechanisms, and surface/interface integrity theory for manufacturing hydraulic components of MCPs, respectively. Representative results are introduced for interaction mechanism between MCPs and other key components in the strongly coupled system, flow interaction behavior of the specific working fluid in flow-passage of hydraulic components in MCPs with extremely varied working conditions, static and dynamic characteristics analysis approaches for mechanical seals and bearings, and formation mechanism of surface contaminations on manufactured components of MCPs and their deteriorating effects on the whole system, and high surface/interface integrity generation mechanism during manufacture of components and the process planning strategy, etc. The achievements provide fundamental theories and advanced technologies supporting key technical innovation and application in the manufacture of MCPs.
