A study of ion exchange equilibria using radioactive isotopes
Description
The ion exchange equilibrium was determined for Fe, Mn, Ni, Co, Sr, Rb, Ba, and Cs ions using tracer technique. Based on these data column operations were carried out. The barium-caesium, and strontium-rubidium ions can be separated with good efficiency. The elution curves showed separate and sharp peaks referring to relatively small volumes of the eluents. Carrying out the calculations from the γ-spectra 98.5-98.9% of the total radioactivity were found in the eluate. The radionuclidic purities of the solutions (eluates) were higher than 99.5%. (T.G.)
