Description
Sensitivity to in vivo ionizing radiation was evaluated in inbred strains of mice, in animals which were treated or not with pharmaceutical peanut oil, used as an antioxidant exogenous resource. These strains has also different levels from the main endogenous antioxidants: reduced glutathione and α-tocopherol. The evaluated patterns were: life span time, mitotic rate reduction, micronucleus and lipo-peroxide production which are factors that reflects the action of free-radicals induced by ionizing radiation. The results showed a close correlation between ionizing radiation sensitivity and natural antioxidants levels. (author). 22 refs., 6 tabs
