Description
The recent development of techniques for safety disposal of the low and intermediate level radioactive wastes is reviewed. Based on the need in earlier stage of the radioactive waste disposal in China, a number of problems, such as the classification of low and intermediate level radioactive wastes containing long-lived radionuclides, the application of multiple-barrier principle in siting and design of disposal system, the selection of safety assessment modes and codes, and the establishment of quality tracing system for waste packages, are discussed and some suggestions are given
