Inclusive electromagnetic nuclear process

Creators

Description

The present status and future role of the single-arm inclusive electromagnetic nuclear process are discussed. Open problems in the nuclear quasi free scattering are reviewed and it is pointed out that the anomaly in the longitudinal response function can not be explained within the framework of the quasi free mechanism. Nuclear electro / photo process in the 3-3 resonance region gives information on the Δ resonance inside nucleus. Comparison with the available data indicate that the net effects of the medium correction on width are 0, about plus and minus 10 MeV in 6Li, 9Be and 16O, respectively, while the real part of the single-particle potential of Δ is required to have a smilar strength with that of the nucleon.
