Energy balance in the processes of transition radiation
Description
The purpose of the study is establishment of the energy balance for particles of arbitrary vlocities V at the intersection of the interface between two nonabsorbing media with arbitrary epsilon1(ω) and epsilon2(ω) in case when the Vavilov-Cherenkov condition does not hold in both media (epsilon = dielectric permittivity, ω = electromagnetic wave frequency). It is shown that though separately the work of forces, intensity and variation of energy of the particle intrinsic field for arbitrary epsilon1(ω) and epsilon2(ω) are not calculated in an explicit form, their sum can be reduced to the form from which the energy balance is shown to follow. The radiation field work of surface waves above a particle is shown to be equal to the energy radiated in the form of surface waves
