Thin-layer chromatography of radioisotopes of Sr and Y

Description

The behavior of radioisotopes of Sr, Y, and man-made radioisotopes that accompany them in natural samples is studied on thin-layer plates by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) in order to develop an extraction-chromatographic method of isolating radiostrontium during its determination in soils. Conditions are found for purifying radiostrontium from the excess of extractant and radioactive impurities in addition to separating radiostrontium from daughter90Y by using various organic solvents as eluents. A thin-layer chromatographic method is proposed that supplements the known method for selective isolation of Sr from soil extracts by extraction with a crown ether
