Bare Pomeron and behavior of cross sections in Reggeon field theory
Description
The conditions for renormalizability and self-consistency of Reggeon theory with a bare propagator of general form are studied. It is shown that these conditions are compatible with the observed constancy of the ratio of the elastic to the total cross section only for a particular choice of the three-Pomeron vertex. It is established that there are only two variants of the theory which satisfy the requirements that are formulated and in which there are no fixed singularities-the models with a dipole Pomeron and with a Froissaron
