On the random sequential adsorption of d-dimensional cubes
Description
The jamming coverage θd for the random sequential adsorption of aligned d-dimensional cubes in Rd is studied through a one-gap distribution function. Heuristic arguments generally used to describe the large time kinetics are found to imply that this distribution is rather independent of the space dimension. This is shown to give a quantitative explanation of the so-called Palasti approximation θd≅θ1d. (author)
