Fission fragment induced desorption-mass spectrometry of involatile substances separated by thin-layer chromatography
Description
Mass spectrometry of involatile substances by fission fragment induced desorption and ionization, recently developed, can be applied to the identification of substances separated by TLC. The substance is eluted from the adsorbent by a non-aqueous solvent and electro-sprayed on to a thin aluminium foil. The substance is desorbed and ionized by 252Cf fission fragments. The positively and negatively charged ions are detected by a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. The lower limit of sample required is less than 100 ng. (orig.)

Die kuerzlich entwickelte Methode der Massenspektrometrie nichtfluechtiger Substanzen bei spaltfragmentinduzierter Desorption und Ionisation laesst sich leicht mit duennschicht-chromatographischer Trennung verbinden. Mit Hilfe eines wasserfreien Loesungsmittels wird die Substanz vom Adsorbens eluiert und das Eluat mit Hilfe des Elektrospray-Verfahrens auf eine duenne Aluminiumfolie aufgesprueht. 252Cf-Spaltprodukte desorbieren und ionisieren die Substanz. Die positiven und negativen Ionen werden mittels eines Laufzeit-Massenspektrometers nachgewiesen. Die Nachweisgrenze liegt unter 100 ng. (orig.)Additional details
