To the problem on efficiency of the cylindrical ionizer for a polarized ion source

Description
A cylindrical ionizer is studied for hydrogen ion (deuterium) polarized beam production by atomic beam ionization in a weak magnetic field. The results of previously made estimations of maximum electron current and ionizer efficiency are refined. Ionizer volt-ampere characteristics are obtained. The ionizer efficiency was determined as an ionizer ion flux to neutral atomic flux ratio. Preestimation of the obtained efficiency value with other data available shows quantitative agreement in one case and qualitative one in other cases
