Description
A consideration is given to methods of reprocessing the wastes being formed when polishing Nd-Fe-B alloy sintered magnets to given size. It is shown that the machine wastes contain from 15 to 40% of magnet material, 22-26% REM, corundum, silicon oxides and cutting fluid. A key diagram of pyrometallurgical waste processing is suggested. Physicochemical aspects of machine waste oxidation and subsequent iron reduction are studied. Carbon is proposed to be used as a reducing agent which allows selective reduction of iron and slag enrichment with REM
Abstract (Russian)
Рассмотрены способы переработки отходов, образующихся при доводке спеченных магнитов из сплавов Nd-Fe-B до заданных геометрических размеров шлифованием. Показано, что шлифотходы содержат от 15 до 40% материала магнитов, 22-26% РЗМ, корунд, оксиды кремния и смазывающе-охлаждающую жидкость. Предложена принципиальная схема пирометаллургической переработки отходов. Изучены физико-химические аспекты процесса окисления шлифотходов и последующего восстановления железа. В качестве восстановителя предложено использовать углерод, который селективно восстанавливает железо, позволяя обогатить шлак по РЗМAdditional details
