Standardisation of techniques for evaluation of solidified high level waste product : a status report
- 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Waste Management Division
Description
The results of studies on : (1) development of suitable glass compositions for solidification and vitrification of high level radioactive wastes, and (2) the characteristics of these compositions, namely, leaching, mechanical properties, thermal conductivity, voscosity and homogeneity evaluation are reported. Inactive simulated purex waste was used for compositions reported herein. The data generated on leaching and other product chatacteristics of the selected vitrified waste products have been used to evaluate the performance of corresponding experimental units and techniques with respect to their reproducibility and reliability.
