1.5GeV synchrotron radiation source
- 1. Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan)
Description
A final conceptual design of a 1.5GeV synchrotron radiation source has been completed. This source consists of a 1.5GeV electron storage ring, 1.5GeV booster synchrotron and a 40MeV linac. For the storage ring, TBA (Triple-Bend-Achromat) lattice structure is adopted in order to obtain low emittance. The edge focusing effect is introduced by the bending magnets so as to make the dynamic aperture as large as possible. By introducing a dispersion free section, we could simplify the calculation of the quadrupole magnet strength and the drift space length in the beam transport lines for both the linac-to-booster and the booster-to-storage ring. A high brightness of 1 x 1018 photons/mm2mrad2 0.1% b.w. is expected due to the insertion of an undulator into the long straight section of the storage ring. (author)
