Microdosimetric characteristics and biological effect of ionizing particles
Description
The inactivation of haploid cells following radiation damage, the number of double-strand breaks and the inactivation of diploid cells, the theory of the dual effect and the non-Poisson distribution of double-strand breaks, the dependence of the mean number of double-strand breaks on the applied dose and the distribution of double-strand breaks effected by one ionizing particle are discussed for clarifying the inactivation mechanism.
